This was literally the PERFECT staycation!! I’m so beyond grateful that Sky Ute Casino Resort reached out, because who knows if we ever would have discovered them and headed down there?!Tucked away in the gorgeous Ignacio Colorado on an Indian Reservation just 25 minutes outside of Durango, this hotel is such a perfect spot for anyone in the Colorado or New Mexico who is looking to sneak away from the city, get some fresh air and have a wonderful time. There is so much to do in the hotel and the surrounding area. You can just stay around the hotel to gamble, bowl, swim, relax, or you can head to the adorable town of Durango to shop, eat and stroll. There are also a ton of outdoor activities in the surrounding area of course, you are in the mountains so hiking, biking, fishing, horseback riding and so much more is available. We decided to spend the day in Durango and head back to the hotel for an unbelievable dinner at Seven Rivers on property at the Sky Ute Casino Resort.
We highly recommend dining at their restaurant, the service was great and the food was perfect. We got coconut shrimp to start, Nick got the t bone steak (which was massive), and I got steak and lobster duo. It was all mouthwatering! But I will say the best part of the meal was the bananas foster! If you stay there you must order one. Not only do they light it on fire and give you a fun show, but it’s seriously the most delicious dessert I’ve had in forever!
After dinner we gambled for a bit, they have a ton to games to choose from, including Nick’s favorites, Craps, Roulette and Blackjack. Everyone on staff there at the Sky Ute from the casino to the restaurant to the front desk was wonderful. Everyone was very kind, welcoming and helpful. Overall, the hotel resort was clean, comfortable, fun and incredibly enjoyable! I’m beyond thrilled that we stayed there and were able to experience all that Sky Ute Casino Resort had to offer.
